Alaska Trip
2004
Washington

Silver Lake. Where I spent the night before heading up to
Mt. Saint Helens.
Although I didn't see any Bears, I did come across their path. A new friend I met while visiting Mt. Saint Helens. Trees scattered along the mountainside. All that's left after being hit with a 700 mph wind and stone blast. A river of mud and debris is all that's left in this valley. In some areas the land underneath the mud was three to six hundred feet deep.

Dirt and stone deposited by the aftermath of the Mt. Saint Helens erruption.
.
Nothing left but large deposits of dirt and the remains of what once was a lush forest
Everywhere you look, there is dirt and stone. The forest has disappeared.
A gaping hole on the side of Mt. Saint Helens.
